Next to this lake, there are 5 other lakes with salted-water: Lacul Negru (Black Lake), Lacul Alunis (Nuts Lake), Lacul Mierlei, Lacul Verde (Green Lake) and Lacul Rosu (Red Lake) and 2 lakes with fresh-water: Lacul Paraschiva (Paraschiva Lake) and Lacul Dulce (Sweet Lake).

Sovata is surrounded by the following mountains: Cireselu, Capela, Bechis, Dealul Mic and Muntele de Sare. Thanks to its subalpine climate, winter's month are fresh and summer's ones are mild, so it is a suitable place for trips and for spending holidays.
